Events

Recent events have included guided walks on building stones of historic churches and townscapes, geology and landscape walks around the coast and inland, and frequent fossil hunts at Bracklesham. Almost any suggestion can be accommodated for either a walk or a talk. Use the links below to contact me or the relevant organisation for more information.

Bracklesham fossil hunts

An exciting activity for both children (over 7 years) and adults. Low tide is essential, the lower the
better. This usually means late afternoon. We meet about 2 hours before low tide for a 'show and tell' of
the fossils - sharks' teeth are the best. Then on to the beach for the fossil hunt, finishing around low
tide depending on the weather.

The fossils, around 46 miilion years old, are washed up on the beach ready for collecting with a little
help from me. If we are lucky, the fossil beds may be exposed. Try to find a shark tooth or a piece of
eagle ray, as well as the fossil shells! See the Bracklesham picture galley here.
