ALL WALKS are tentative until Covid restrictions are relaxed. Please check before turning up.

 

March 20 (Sat) 2021 - CANCELLED ‘Geology of Nymans Gardens, Handcross’ (National Trust property near Haywards Heath) for  the West Sussex Geological Society. A walk through the gardens with additional support from Greg Thomas, NT guide. National Trust membership not necessary. Meet 1030 in the car park.

 

May 23 (Sun) 2021 - ‘Building stones and geology around Littlehampton: Lyminster church and Climping (Atherington) beach’. A day out for the London Group of the Open University Geological Society.

 

June 23 (Wed) 2021 - ‘The building stones of New Shoreham church (St Mary de Haura)’ for the West Sussex Geological Society. An evening ramble around the historic stones and their stories. Meet 7.00pm at the church.

 

August 15 (Sun) 2021 - ‘Pebbles on the Beach’ for  the West Sussex Geological Society. A family event, exploring and learning about beach pebbles. Meet 2.30pm by Worthing pier.

 

To be confirmed - ‘Exploring the geology of Chichester Harbour’. A day out for the Wessex group of the Open University Geological Society, centred on West Wittering and Chichester Marina/Dell Quay.

 

To be confirmed - ‘The building stones of Boxgrove Priory’. A guided walk around the building stones of the Priory for Waterlooville U3A geology group, 2-4pm.

 

To be confirmed - ‘The gravestones of Offington Cemetery, Worthing’ for the West Sussex Geological Society. An afternoon event, in cooperation with Alan Bell and John Lonergan of the WSGS, exploring the geology of the gravestones. Meet 2.00pm at the cemetery.
